WASHINGTON.
- Military
Extension Policy
A Washington driver's license issued to a service member, or the spouse
or dependent child living with the service member, remains in effect
while the person is serving in the armed forces. On the face of the
Washington State driver's license in the place reserved for the
expiration date, it will read MILITARY. Military personnel should carry
active duty card as evidence that the license is valid. A spouse or
dependent child should carry their dependent identification card. The
license is valid until 90 days after the honorable discharge from
service duty, unless it is suspended, cancelled, or revoked for cause as
provided by law. If separation from the service is other than honorable,
the military expiration is immediately void and you must apply for a
renewal license. A license with a military expiration issued to a
reservist who has been called to active duty, or the spouse or dependent
child of the reservist, only remains in effect while the person remains
on active duty.

Military Extension Policy
Wisconsin residents in the Armed Forces may renew driver's licenses by
mail. Any license does not expire on the expiration date on the license
if, on that expiration date, the licensee is on active duty in the U.S.
Armed Forces and is absent from state. Any license extended by this law
expires 30 days after the licensee returns to state or 90 days after
discharge from active duty, whichever comes first. |

Military Extension Policy
An "I" restriction will be added to the driver's license for Wyoming
active duty military personnel; it waives expiration when accompanied by
active duty military identification card. A copy of the active duty
military ID card (front and back) must be submitted to verify active
duty status. If the military driver does not want this restriction,
renewal requirements will not be waived for those stationed overseas and
they will not be eligible for renewal exemptions. |
